A nationwide fumigation and disinfection of all military barracks of the Ghana Armed forces was launched in Accra today.
This was announced and launched by the Deputy Minister for Defense,Major Derek Oduro(Rtd).
According to him,just as the disinfection exercise of both public and private schools,this exercise which is to be replicated simultaneously in all barracks has become critical to help control the community spread of COVID-19.
He noted that all barracks schools,offices, accomodations within barracks,churches, mosques and other facilities within all barracks nationwide will undergo the fumigation exercise from tomorrow.
While expressing his gratitude to Zoomlion for undertaking the exercise, Major Oduro announced governmentβs commitments and willingness in the fight against COVID-19.
Mrs Florence Larbi,Chief Operations officer of Zoomlion Ghana limited said the exercise is very crucial in the wake of the COVID-19,hence Zoomlion Ghana Limited will ensure the safety of the military and all Ghanaians through it fumigation exercise.
Since the outbreak of COVID-19, Zoomlion had carried out a number of projects to ensure the country contains the virus.
They include the nationwide fumigation exercise at markets and lorry stations, disinfection of tertiary institutions and senior high schools as well as religious organisations.
