The Chief Executive Director of the seed production division of COCOBOD, Mrs. Faustina Asamani has revealed that the government of Ghana through the Ghana COCOBOD is ready to supply cocoa farmers across the country with over One Hundred and Forty Million (140million) high breed of cocoa seedlings for free.
She explained that, the newly introduced high breed cocoa seedlings can withstand drought and diseases and also bears more fruits which would help improve the lives of farmers who would be growing these new seedlings.
Mrs. Asomani further advised cocoa farmers to try mixing coffee with their cocoa trees so as to have money from coffee as well even when the season of cocoa is out.
She made these known today when a team from Ghana COCOBOD paid a visit to their two seed growing sites in the eastern region, Apedwa and Bunsu cocoa stations today.
