Gov’t to provide 334 SHSs with ICT labs – Ursula

Government is in the process of providing some 334 senior High Schools with 40-seater ICT laboratories across the country.

According to the sector minister, Ursula Owusu-Ekuful, the government is poised to provide this assistance across the country with computer laboratories.

Announcing this, the Minister further stated “GIFEC is also constructing some community ICT centres in locations outside or on school compounds which can be of use to various communities”.

Honorable Ursula Owusu further hinted that the government this year is training some 5,000 girls in ICT in 5 regions to help promote ICT amongst the youth.

She’s of the belief that educating the youth in ICT will go a long way to bring development to the nation and raise the next generation of a digitized world.

On his part, the MCE for Ablekuma West Municipality, George Cyril Bray also stated that if not for the quick intervention of the Municipality, St Mary’s Senior High School wouldn’t have admitted freshers due to the lack of classrooms therefore commended the efforts of the Assembly and further listed some achievements chalked by the Assembly.
