Group demands accountability, says President Mahama must fulfil on his campaign promise

A group calling itself Youth for Action(YFA) is calling on President John Dramani Mahama to stop the lip service that he is doing right now and focused on how to fulfil his campaign promise.

The group alluded that before the 2024 general elections, the NDC launched their manifesto, which several promises were made made to the youth.

Addressing the media, the convenor of the group, Isaac Achampong, alleged that during the campaign period President Mahama promise to provide flexible loans to young entrepreneurs to strengthen their businesses, but the government was silent on the initiative during his first budget presentation by the finance minister.

According to him,the government sought to relaunch the NPP government’s YouStart initiative under the guise of the Adwumawura project, which is a deliberate attempt to confuse the public.

Mr Isaac Achampong hinted that the recent increase in utility tariffs of 14.75% clearly shows that it will incurred more pressure of industries because the 24-hour economy policy by NDC will be anchored on industrialization which electricity will play a major role.

He therefore call on civil society organizations, labour unions, student unions and groups, as well as all well-meaning Ghanaians to join them in putting pressure on the government to drop the tariffs.
