Hon Ken Ohene Agyapong, a leading presidential hopeful of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has charged the party’s delegates to elect him as the party’s flagbearer in the upcoming presidential primaries, because he has the vote of confidence from the public, as the best placed candidate among the five contestants, to win power from the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in 2028.
The former 6-term Assin Central MP also appealed to the delegates to listen to the cry of the Ghanaian public, who have expressed their desire to elect him as the next president of Ghana, to spearhead the country’s rapid transformation, growth and development.
The experienced politician and seasoned businessman made these assertions when he interacted with the party’s delegates at Afram Plains South in the Eastern Region, as part of his Unity Tour to woo delegates ahead of the January 31 2026, presidential primaries of the NPP.
Ken Agyapong said that in bridging the gap and accelerating development, his priority would be to construct a bridge over the Volta Lake linking Afram Plains to other parts of the region.
He again appealed to the delegates to elect him as the flag-bearer to provide the appropriate leadership required to harness the vast potential of the area into economic benefits for the people and communities.
