The Assin Central Member of Parliament, Hon. Ken Ohene Agyapong, has appealed to the delegates of the New Patriotic Party in the Bantama Constituency of the Ashanti Region to vote for Mr. Ralph Kwame Opoku Agyapong in the upcoming parliamentary primaries slated for January 27, 2024.
The 6-term legislator has also pledged to provide nurturing guidance for his aspirant brother, who seeks to dethrone the incumbent MP and Minister for Works and Housing, Hon. Francis Asenso Boakye, who himself ascended the seat in the 2020 parliamentary elections.
Hon. Ken Agyapong made the appeal when he addressed NPP delegates in Bantama, made up of polling station and constituency executives, during an interaction by Ralph Agyapong, his campaign team and the delegates on Thursday.
Using the occasion to confirm his non-participation in the 2024 parliamentary elections, the Assin Central MP promised to use his time and experience to coach and guide Lawyer Ralph Agyapong to be a competent and development-oriented representative.
Hon. Ken Agyapong urged the delegates to choose a selfless parliamentary candidate who would make a difference in the constituency and the lives of the delegates and avoid being hoodwinked by others who neglect them in their time of need.
The affable politician and philanthropist lambasted some political leaders from the Ashanti Region for neglecting the necessary development needed for the region to reflect its status.
Hon. Ken Agyapong also had a word of caution for his young brother, promising to be his critic if he goes contrary to the attitude of humility and selflessness and urged the aspirant not to neglect and disrespect his constituents when he gets their approval to represent them in parliament.
