According to her, she has not made such comments against assembly members in the country.
President Nana Addo in his fifth address to the nation to update citizens on the pandemic coronavirus noted that his government is going to provide food for the weak in the society amidst lockdown in some part of the country.
Some Assembly Members in the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly have condemned the deputy minister for making such remarks.

The Assemblyman for Krofuom CPC, Hon. Kwaku Appiah also said the deputy minister’s comment is not in a good taste and must be condemned entirely.
But Speaking on Ashh Fm’s afternoon show Key Note, Hon Freda Prempeh clarified that she has not made such derogatory remarks against Assembly Members that they can’t be entrusted in the distribution of the government initiative of providing food for the vulnerable in the society.
She told the host, Kwadwo Amankwah Foxzy that, ‘’ how can I make such comments whiles I have been an assembly member in Greater Accra for 8 years and held other assembly committees in A.M.A, so how can I attack my own, I’m interested in how we can overcome this coronavirus but not this petty publications or mischief just to malign someone’s reputation’.
Hon. Freda Prempeh made it clear that, the Disaster Management Committee of the various assemblies are part of the supervisors of this distribution and the assembly members have rep on this committee ‘so I don’t know why someone will put it out there that I have said the assembly members are not to be trusted in this outreach program’
‘I’m very focus and not perturbed about this propaganda or mischievous agenda by some bloggers, at the moment we are much concerned about the fight against coronavirus ‘’ she stated.
The Tano North Member of Parliament further appealed to assembly members to support the fight against the novel coronavirus and insisted that she can never undermine their reputation.
