I’LL SURPASS KWAME NKRUMAH IF GIVEN THE NOD IN 2029 – KEN AGYAPONG

Hon Ken Ohene Agyapong, a presidential hopeful for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has reiterated that, the need for the domestication of the Ghanaian economy is what has inspired him to aspire to be the next president of Ghana, come 2029.

The former Assin Central MP noted that, after 24 years as a member of parliament, he is convinced that Ghana can no longer continue with the stagnant pace of industrial development, which is too reliant on importation and believes he can surpass the achievements of his role model, Dr Kwame Nkrumah, the first president of Ghana, whose legacy is still celebrated.

Hon Ken Agyapong made these remarks during an interview on NZEMA FM at Axim in the Evalue-Gwira constituency of the Western Region, as part of his nationwide Unity Tour, to solicit votes from the party’s delegates ahead of the presidential primaries, scheduled for January 31 2026.

The business magnate and seasoned politician said good leadership is the bane of the country, and challenged himself that, should Ghanaians give him the nod to become the president in 2029, he would surpass the milestones of Osagyefo Dr Kwame Nkrumah.

He repeated his key priorities to include solving the biggest challenge of youth unemployment, through agro-processing and industrialisation, among other innovative interventions.

Hon Ken Agyapong chastised other aspirants for their lack of vision to turn around the economy of the country, and appealed to the delegates to vote for a business-oriented aspirant who can transform the country, as he has lined up global investors who are willing to invest in Ghana.

He pledged that the Ministry of Energy and its agencies, except the Tema Oil Refinery, will be moved to the Western Region.

Ken Agyapong also interacted with delegates in the area and the Jomoro constituency and shared his vision with them.
