Black stars winger Joseph Paintsil put up an impressive performance in Los Angeles Galaxy’s thumping of Club Tijuana in the league club at the dignity health park in LA.
After a closely contested first half, where both teams traded goals, Painstil took center stage in the second half. He scored twice and provided an assist, guiding his team to victory in the first round of the league cup.

LA Galaxy initially took the lead through Matheus Nascimento’s goal in the 17th minute but Tijuana equalized just four minutes later through Gilberto Mora. Gabriel Pec restored LA Galaxy’s lead before halftime. However, Mora’s second goal in the 59th minute leveled the score again.
Painstil then stepped up, scoring in the 65th minute to put LA Galaxy ahead, followed by Marcos Reus’s fourth goal for the team. Painstil sealed the win with another goal in stoppage time, narrowly missing a hat-trick after failing to convert a penalty earlier in the match. This impressive performance adds to Painstil’s growing form since returning from injury, with four goals and an assist in 17 MLS appearances, and one goal in the Leagues Cup.
