Ghana’s youth have been urged not to give up hopes and aspirations in their endeavours, despite the challenges life will throw at them, according to the Member of Parliament for Assin Central, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong.
Speaking at the maiden edition of the Youth Conference, held at the auditorium of the University of Professional Studies at Madina on Tuesday, the affable legislator espoused the virtues of perseverance, patience and honesty as the hallmarks of success, to the fully packed auditorium.
Hon Kennedy Agyapong urged the students in particular and the youth, in general, to take their destinies into their own hands as the government cannot possibly provide employment to the growing number of graduates let alone all the youth in Ghana.
The Group chairman of Kencity Media LTD used the opportunity to encourage the youth to dream and think big, in order to challenge themselves to succeed and achieve great success in life.
The astute businessman and philanthropist decried the tendency to accuse others of witchcraft and superstition when faced with failure and rather urged the youth to develop the capacity to work hard.
Hon Kennedy Agyapong also used the occasion to lambast political opponents who do their best to polarise the country and seek to denigrate and destroy good policies and plans by those who have been entrusted to govern the country, and posited that this negative attitude must stop.
The youth conference saw in attendance dignitaries including Deputy Minister of Information, Fatimatu Abubakari, former minister of state and MP for Abetifi, Bryan Acheampong, former ambassador to the Peoples Republic of China, Mr. Edward Boateng, MPs, traditional leaders, business leaders, and students.
