Ken Ohene Agyapong Declares Presidential Intent with Bold Vision for Ghana’s Future

Accra, Ghana — June 2025

Business mogul and New Patriotic Party (NPP) stalwart, Hon. Ken Ohene Agyapong, used his 65th birthday celebration as a powerful platform to reaffirm his ambition to lead the NPP and ultimately, the country, into a new era of pragmatic, grassroots-driven leadership.

In a speech that blended humility, conviction, and vision, the Assin Central MP expressed his deep appreciation for the overwhelming support that turned what was expected to be a modest gathering into a sea of enthusiastic well-wishers.

“We arranged for 1,000 seats, yet the numbers far exceeded that. This was not the result of adverts or invites — it was pure love,” he stated. “You believe in me, and I will not fail you.”

Agyapong did not mince words about the challenges facing the country. He argued that Ghana’s core issues cannot be solved by eloquence or economic theory alone, but through courageous, action-oriented leadership.

“Our problem in this country is not grammar, it’s employment. It’s the lack of industries. We need a leader who can smell opportunity and turn it into jobs,” he emphasized.

He pointed to his personal track record of acquiring over 100,000 acres of land across various regions for agro-industrial initiatives and job creation, noting that if he could achieve that as a private citizen, his impact as president would be transformational.

In addressing critics who have attacked his temperament, Agyapong remained resolute:

“Yes, I am bold and I speak the truth. But I am focused. My temperament will not derail my vision. I am here to serve, not to react.”

He further declared his full intent to contest the NPP flagbearer race and assured supporters of his readiness for the challenge, regardless of how the internal electoral structure is arranged.

“Whether top-down, bottom-up, or middle-out, Ken Ohene Agyapong will win. Even if they ask us to vote tomorrow, my people are ready,” he proclaimed.

Concluding his address, Agyapong urged the party to unite and refocus its energy on solutions that benefit all Ghanaians.

“Let’s rebuild the New Patriotic Party. Let’s revive Ghana. Let’s rise together,” he said to rousing applause.

The message, delivered on a milestone birthday, struck a powerful chord with grassroots delegates, party leaders, and youth activists present, signaling a clear and confident move by the veteran politician to position himself as the people’s candidate for NPP’s future.
