Koforidua Multi-Purpose Sports And Youth Resource Centre Is Ready For Commissioning On 27th December 2023- NYA Boss

The Chief Executive Officer for the National Youth Authority, NYA, Mr. Pius Enam Hadzide has paid a working visit to Koforidua, the Eastern Regional capital to inspect the construction of the ongoing Multi-purpose Sports and Youth Centre ahead of its commissioning by H.E the President Nana Addo on the 27th December 2023.

The CEO was however impressed with the level of work done so far and informed the media that the work down is 96% complete and also urged the contractor to complete the project on schedule.

The Koforidua Sports Stadium is one of the 10 multi-purpose Sports and Youth Resource Centres being constructed by the government of Ghana started way back 2018.

The facility when completed will have a standard FIFA pitch which can be used by Premier and Divisional teams in the Region, ICT Centre, Multi-purpose Court, Restaurant and others.

The remaining nine are; Wa, Novrongo, Yendi, Nyinahin, Dormaa Ahenkro, Dunkwa-On-Offin, Axim, Ho and Kaneshie are all close to completion.

The sports centre can also boast of FIFA standard Pitches, 8-lane athletic oval, a 40-metre long jump runway with a takeoff board, multipurpose Courts including tennis, volley, and handball, spectator stands-popular and VIP, hotel units, IT hubs, shops and restaurants, among others.

The Chief Executive Officer for National Youth Authority, Mr. Pius Senam Hadzide was happy with the level of work done and explained why the commissioning has been postponed from 19th December 2023 to 28th December 2023.
