The Minister for Roads and Highways, Hon Kwasi Amoako-Attah as part of his working tour under the Year of Roads agenda, inspected some ongoing road projects in some parts of Accra.
The Minister along with his two deputies, the Urban Roads Director, the Director for the Ghana Highways Authority, and other agency heads including engineers with the ministry inspected an ongoing road expansion on the La – Teshie road.
As part of the expansion, the steel bridge at Kpeshie is being reconstructed to contain the three-lane expansion.
Speaking in an interview with the media, the Minister for Roads and Highways, Hon Kwasi Amoako-Attah hinted that the project is expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2023.
He, therefore, urged the contractors to work day and night to ensure they complete the project on time.
He later warned motorists to adhere to directional signs because failure to do so will warrant an arrest by men from the MTTD department of the Ghana police service who are helping to reduce the congestion.
On his part, the Director of Urban Roads, Ing Gotfrey Amoh explained the scope of work and appealed to the public to cope with the inconveniences as it’s for the good of the people.
He explained to motorists along that stretch how traffic will be managed to reduce the inconveniences.
