The President of the Republic, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, has commenced his Thank You tour of the Greater Accra Region with a Thanksgiving Service at the Holy Trinity Anglican Cathedral in Accra on Sunday.
The service, which also served as a Thanksgiving service for the newly elected Secretary General of the Commonwealth, Madam Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey.
The president has been visiting various regions around the country in the last week to thank Ghanaians for their support during his two-term presidency.
Accompanying him at the Thanksgiving service were the Greater Accra regional minister Nii Kwartei Titus Glover, Deputy Chief of Staff, Emmanuel Adumua Bossman, Member of the Council of State, Stanley Adjiri Blankson, and Elizabeth Sackey, the Metropolitan Chief Executive of the Accra Metropolitan Assembly.
In his address to the congregation, President Akufo-Addo expressed his thanks to all Ghanaians for their trust reposed in him and giving him and the New Patriotic Party the mandate to govern the country for the past 8 years.
The President used the occasion to appeal to the electorate to once again show that democracy in Ghana is indeed entrenched.

The President thereafter met with the NPP family in the Greater Accra Region, where he interacted with MPs, parliamentary candidates, MMDCEs, and regional and constituency executives at the Teachers Hall in Accra.
The next stop for the President was Jamestown.
Here the President engaged the chiefs, traditional and opinion leaders, where he thanked them and the Ga Mashie community for their support during the past 8 years.
