Akuapem North MP, Sammi Awuku, has emphasized the importance of unity within the New Patriotic Party (NPP) as the party gears up for the upcoming Akwatia by-election on September 2, 2025.

Speaking at the official endorsement of Solomon Kwame Asumadu as the NPP’s parliamentary candidate, Mr. Awuku who previously served as the party’s National Organiser highlighted the dedication of the late Akwatia MP, Ernest Yaw Kumi, and urged party members to honour his legacy through a decisive victory at the polls.

He called on the constituents to turn out in large numbers and vote for Mr. Asumadu, describing it as a way to preserve and continue the late MP’s impactful work in the constituency.

In his address, Mr. Asumadu appealed to party members to put aside any internal rifts and rally together, stressing that unity was crucial to advancing the progress initiated by Mr. Kumi.

Several other NPP leaders present at the event shared similar views, encouraging full backing for Mr. Asumadu to secure the seat and maintain the party’s presence in Akwatia.
