Mahama assures Constitution Review Committee: “Your work will not be in vain”

President John Dramani Mahama has reiterated his commitment to constitutional reforms, assuring the newly formed Constitution Review Committee that their efforts will not be in vain.

President Mahama emphasized that this initiative would not be another unfulfilled reform effort, but instead, a pivotal moment in Ghana’s governance.

Speaking at the swearing-in ceremony for the members of the Constitutional Review Committee on Thursday, January 30, he urged the committee to thoroughly review past recommendations, pinpoint necessary changes, and create a clear roadmap for meaningful constitutional amendments.

He stressed that the process must result in tangible action, rather than becoming yet another chapter in Ghana’s history of stalled reforms.

“Understand the weight of responsibility that comes with this task, and I assure you that your work will not be in vain. This will not be an exercise in futility. We are determined to see this process through and have every confidence in your ability to deliver results that will benefit both the present and future generations of Ghanaians,” President Mahama declared.
