Manchester United is ‘readying’ a club-record €130 million bid for Real Madrid midfielder Eduardo Camavinga, according to Spanish outlet Fichajes (h/t Manchester Evening News).
The Red Devils remain massive fans of the 20-year-old. In the upcoming transfer window, the Old Trafford side could attempt to entice Los Blancos to part ways with the youngster.
Erik ten Hag is keen on bolstering the middle of the park next summer. However, a huge bid for the France international seems unlikely, considering the Manchester-based club is prioritizing a number nine at the end of the season.
Camavinga signed for Madrid in the summer of 2021 from Stade Rennais in Ligue 1. Since then, the midfielder has been a key player for Carlo Ancelotti’s team.
However, in the previous campaign, the French national had to compete for game time with the likes of Luka Modric, Toni Kroos and Casemiro, who joined United last summer. As a result, the youngster mostly came off the bench.
This season, the 20-year-old has been experiencing a similar situation. Los Blancos signed Aurelien Tchouameni in the summer of 2022. The former AS Monaco star has enjoyed regular first-team action.
Camavinga has been an impact substitute for Ancelotti. The Italian manager has also used the midfielder out of position and has played him as a left-back on some occasions.
The Red Devils’ decision to get Casemiro has paid dividends. Ten Hag has relied on the Brazil international to make the Old Trafford side more robust. The 31-year-old has put in multiple Man of the Match displays in Manchester.
