A highly anticipated rematch between Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao has been officially confirmed, nearly 11 years after their first iconic showdown.
Netflix announced that it will stream the fight live on September 19 from the Sphere in Las Vegas. Details such as weight division, number of rounds, and the main event start time are yet to be released.
The event will be produced by EverWonder Studio, Hidden Empire, and Limitless X Holdings, with promotion handled by Manny Pacquiao Promotions and Mayweather Promotions, in association with CSI Sports/FIGHT SPORTS.
This bout comes almost 11 years after their May 2, 2015 meeting in Las Vegas, where Mayweather defeated Pacquiao by unanimous decision in one of the highest-grossing fights in boxing history.
Mayweather, who turns 49 this week, recently announced he will end a nine-year retirement, while Pacquiao, 47, returned from his own four-year hiatus last year and is scheduled to face Ruslan Provodnikov on April 18.
The rematch is expected to generate massive excitement among boxing fans, eager to see the rivals share the ring again more than a decade later.
