Mozambique President Calls For Unity In Africa

The President of Mozambique, Mr. Filipe Jacinto Nyusi has called for Cooperation between Ghana and Mozambique.

Calling for the unity of African countries, he rallies on the book written by the late President of Ghana, Dr. Kwame Nkrumah “Africa Unite.”

President Nyusi also revealed that more than two thousand people are gone missing in his country as a cause of terrorism. He said the only way to stop terrorism is by joining the efforts of countries. He added that the agreement between both countries will promote sustainable management of economic resources such as agriculture, gold, oil and gas. He showed appreciation to President Akufo-Addo and the late UN Secretary-General, Kofi Annan for their solidarity to support Mozambique at the executive level.

The Minority Whip in Parliament, Alhaji Muntaka Mubarak Mohammed stood in for the Minority Leader and advocated for the establishment of free trade within Africa.

Hon. Muntaka noted that trading more within ourselves will make Africa’s independence more meaningful. He said it was unfortunate that Northern Mozambique has been faced with Terrorism since 2017 but he prays them over this challenge.

However, the Majority leader in parliament, Mr. Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu on his part called for Cooperation between both countries. He again mentioned that the benefits of both countries are huge and areas like Agriculture,

Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu further suggested relevant legislation should be encouraged between both countries to enable any future endeavors.

He also noted that Ghana has established the Ghana Mozambique Parliamentary society to enable follow up.
