Mrs. Christiana Agyapong Rallies Support for Husband, Ken Ohene Agyapong, as NPP’s Surest Path to Power

Mrs. Christiana Agyapong, wife of former Assin Central Member of Parliament and presidential hopeful Ken Ohene Agyapong, has made a passionate appeal to delegates and Ghanaians, stressing that the upcoming flagbearership contest goes beyond party politics and is ultimately about who the people truly want to lead.

Speaking about her husband’s candidacy, Mrs. Agyapong emphasized that Ghanaians are yearning for a selfless leader, and she believes they have found one in Ken Ohene Agyapong.
“This contest is not just about electing a flagbearer but who the people want. Ghanaians are clamouring for a selfless leader and thankfully, they found one in the NPP. My husband’s advocacy has never been about his parochial interest but rather safeguarding the interests of the vulnerable,” she noted.

Highlighting his long-standing commitment to social and economic empowerment, she said Ken Ohene Agyapong has consistently worked to ease the burden on households through job creation and opportunities for the youth.

Acknowledging his imperfections, Mrs. Agyapong stated that while her husband may not fit the mold of a conventional, politically correct candidate, his authenticity and boldness resonate with ordinary Ghanaians.

“Many are his shortcomings and yes, he is fallible but the people still like him. He is unconventional and not your regular politically correct presidential candidate but the people want him and he’s your surest way to regaining power,” she asserted.

She further urged the youth, who remain a decisive force in the political process, to remain focused on the bigger picture and not be swayed by temporary enticements.
“Give us Ken and we will give you power. This is the simple request by Ghanaians. Dear youth, I plead with you to stay focused and not be swayed by financial and other enticements. Our ultimate goal is to win power,” she appealed.

Mrs. Agyapong’s remarks come at a time when internal conversations within the New Patriotic Party (NPP) continue to intensify ahead of the 2028 general elections. Her message adds to the growing chorus of voices positioning Ken Ohene Agyapong as a people-centered leader whose candidacy could energize the grassroots and reconnect the party with the wider Ghanaian electorate.
