
Nigeria’s Super Falcons secured a spot in the Women’s African Cup of Nations final with a thrilling 2-1 victory over defending champions South Africa. Rasheedat Ajibade scored from the penalty spot in the first half to give Nigeria the lead, but Linda Motlhalo equalized for South Africa with a penalty in the second half.

The match seemed headed for extra time until Michelle Alozie scored the winner four minutes into injury time with a cleverly floated cross that South Afrcian goalkeeper Andile Dlamini failed to clear, resulting in an own goal.
The win sets up a final match for Nigeria against the winner of the semi final between Morocco and Ghana. The Super Falcons dominated the first half but struggled to create clear chances in the second half, with South Africa gaining momentum as the game progressed.
The match was was marked by a dramatic turn of events, including a horrific leg injury to South African player Gabriela Salgado whcih left both team shaken. Despite their efforts, South Africa couldnt hold on for a draw,ending their title defense.
The final promises to be an exciting matchup,with Nigeria looking to claim their tenth title.
