NLA Boss Report Lotto Fraudsters To EOCO Boss

The Director-General of the National Lottery Authority, Mr. Samuel Awuku has appealed to the Economic and Organised Crime Office(EOCO), to help the authority flash out lotto fraudsters from the system.

According to Mr. Awuku, the NLA and government are losing millions of cedis due to the activities of these lotto fraudsters and by far tarnishing the image of the National Lottery Authority.

Speaking passionately on the matter, Mr. Awuku described how fraudsters have created several Facebook accounts, Whatsapp, and other social media platforms using the logo and pictures of staff at the National Lottery Authority(NLA), and sometimes pictures of other influential persons to defraud the unsuspecting public.

He further explained that the NLA has arrested some ten(10)lotto fraudsters and continues to be on high alert.

The Director-General made a passionate appeal to the EOCO boss, Maame Yaa Tiwaa Addo-Danquah to assist the Lottery Authority deal with this illegality with some urgency, to save the Authority and the nation millions of cedis.

He also assured that the NLA  shall continue to collaborate with the EOCO, police, and other relevant security agencies to arrest lotto fraudsters across the country.

He made this appeal today, Thursday 10th February 2022, during a courtesy call by The Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) led by its Executive Director (COP) Maame Yaa Tiwaa Addo-Danquah.

On her part, the Executive Director of the Economic and Organised Crime Office, Maame Yaa Tiwaa Addo-Danquah is of the belief that prevention is better than cure, hence EOCO will ensure that strict security measures are put in place as sensitization is also increased amongst the citizens.

She believes that her outfit can play a significant role in ensuring that the fraudulent acts are reduced significantly.
