As part of efforts by the management of the National Lottery Authority to improve the business model of the authority and increase the confidence of customers in the operations of the NLA, the authority set out to pay out all their outstanding wins and also start paying wins promptly and through mobile money option according to it Director-General, Mr Samuel Awuku.
According to the Director-General, moving to the digital systems requires payments to also migrate digitally to ensure the safety and security of winners of the lottery.
The payments through the mobile money option according to him will be optional for customers but admitted there will be a tax component when the momo option is opted for.
He further hinted that the NLA will partner with the French embassy in Ghana and adopt the French scratch lotto system, which will sway away from the normal way of staking lotto in Ghana, and further stated that, his main vision is to migrate the NLA to the digital scene, hence lottery in Ghana will soon be staked at the comfort of homes.
He stated this when the French Ambassador to Ghana, Ms. Anne Sophie AVÉ paid a working visit to the National Lottery Authority.
On her part, the French Ambassador to Ghana, Ms. Anne Sophie AVÉ highlighted the tremendous initiatives and programs of the Good Causes Foundation, the French scratch lottery games, and the Accra in Paris program scheduled for April 2022.
