Mr. Kwabena Appiah Ampofo, MD for State Housing Company has stated that the youth of Ghana and New Patriotic Party should not be complacent but go into next year’s presidential and parliamentary elections as if they were the underdog. He made these remarks when addressing a charged newly inaugurated branch of the NPP Loyal Ladies in the Western North Region over the weekend.
He reminded the women of the sacrifices they made in bringing the NPP government to power and charged them that their toils will be in vain if the NPP does not win at least the next three election cycles.
‘’This is not the time to get comfortable; this is not the time to rest. This is the time to roll up your sleeves and go into the elections like the wounded tigress you are. It is time to bring out the Yaa Asantewaa spirit in you. You have scares from elections 2016 that have not even healed and you cannot sit and allow the incompetent ones to roll back all the gains of this government.
You have to protect the continuity of policies such as NABCO, Free SHS, NHIS, 1D1F, the restoration of Nurses and Teacher trainee allowances, planting for food and Jobs and the strong state of the economy’’. Mr. Appiah said to loud chants from the audience.
