NPP: THE ‘MIGHTY MINORITY’: WE’RE READY TO WORK WITH THE MAJORITY BUT WE WON’T BE INTIMIDATED—OPPONG NKRUMAH REAFFIRMS

The Member of Parliament for the Ofoase-Ayirebi constituency in the Eastern Region, Kojo Oppong-Nkrumah has reiterated the New Patriotic Party’s resolve to uphold and defend the vision and legacy of the party despite its minority status in parliament, pledging to ensure effective checks and oversight at the legislature, to the benefit of Ghana.
According to the former Minister of Works and Housing in the Akufo-Addo administration, the Mighty Minority, as he called his side, will be the most effective in recent times, as they take a cue from the early days of the Fourth Republic, when their predecessors performed remarkably beyond doubt, hailing the likes of J.H. Mensah, Kofi Apraku, and Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, among others.
Kojo Oppong Nkrumah made these remarks on Monday when he appeared on the maiden edition of ‘Se Ne Penn,’ an afternoon talk show on NET2 TV.

On the recent chaotic occurrences in parliament, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah said the minority has no reason to be destructive in parliament but is ready to assist the executive to govern and assured Ghanaians that they are willing to work with the NDC but that they will not be pushovers if the majority decides to intimidate them.

On the speaker’s decision to suspend some MPs for their alleged involvement in the chaos at the Appointments Committee, the Ofoase-Ayirebi MP expressed his
disagreement with the ruling.
