The Bono Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party Kwame Baffoe Abronye has said his party is peace loving and would therefore not do anything that would jeopardize national unity but will however not tolerate any organized attacks from the opposition.
Chairman Abronye said the NPP government over the years has done so much for the country and therefore will do anything within its means to protect the national cohesion been enjoyed but warn war mongers to desist from their unwarranted attacks.
He disclosed this at a durbar of chiefs and people of Bongase in the Banda Constituency when the Vice President of the Republic Dr Mahamudu Bawumia visited the Constituency as part of his two day working visit to the Bono region.
Chairman Abronye responding to issues raised by the Chief of Bongase over the recent violence which characterised the registration exercise in the Banda Constituency said, the chiefs have vindicated the New Patriotic Party by admitting that the violence came as a result of non natives been bussed to register in the constituency.
The Chief in his welcome address said some political party brought aliens to partake in the voters registration exercise which brought about the mayhem.
It will be recalled that in a viral video the general secretary of the opposition National Democratic Congress Johnson Asiedu Nketiah was seen transporting non natives in kia trucks to the Banda Constituency which caused misunderstandings in the constituency.
Chairman Abronye however called on Ghanaians to resist any attempts that could plunge the country into chaos adding:” We will not encourage any misbehavior and we call on our opponents to do same.
Kwame Baffoe said, it’s time for the people of Banda to change their parliamentary candidate because he has been a great failure to his constituents and hence their woes.
The Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia as part of his nationwide trip visited the chiefs and people of Bongase in the Banda Constituency, Nsawkaw in the Tain Constituency, sod cutting for the construction of 29 kilometre Sinohydro road project at Sunyani Berlin Top in the Sunyani West Constituency.
Dr Bawumia will also engage the chiefs and people of Nkrankwanta, Wamfie and cut sod for the construction of 10 kilometre Sinohydro road at Berekum.
