The Greater Accra regional secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Daniel Odailai France, will be put before court today [Wednesday, March 16, 2022] over his alleged assault on an individual last weekend at Dansoman in Accra.

According to the police, the suspect ordered a gang of eight to beat up the victim during the Ablekuma West NPP polling station acclamation event held at the Dansoman Liberty Park.

“The Accra Regional Police CID invited the suspect to assist in the investigation and formally charged him yesterday Tuesday, March 15, 2022,” a police statement said.

It added that the suspect has been granted a police inquiry bail ahead of his appearance in court today.

According to an eyewitness account of the said assault captured in news reports, one Daniel Amakye Kingsford, who is an aspiring First Vice Chairman in his attempt to enter the event grounds to observe the proceedings was denied entry by the regional secretary, Daniel Odailai Parker who claimed that Daniel Amakye had threatened to kidnap him [Daniel Odailai Parker].

Daniel Odailai Parker reportedly ordered some well-built men who were with him to attack Daniel Amakye.
