A high-level delegation from the leadership of Parliament and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) on Tuesday, July 8, visited the family home of the late Ernest Yaw Kumi, Member of Parliament for Akwatia, to offer their condolences following his sudden passing.
The delegation, led by Clerk of Parliament Ebenezer Ahumah Djietror, included both Majority and Minority Leaders, as well as other distinguished Members of Parliament and senior figures from the NPP.
During the visit, the delegation expressed heartfelt sympathies to the bereaved family and signed a book of condolence opened in honour of the late MP.
The atmosphere at the residence was one of deep sorrow and reflection, as family members, friends, and sympathisers gathered to mourn the loss of a man remembered for his dedication, warmth, and lasting impact.
Grief-stricken mourners were seen embracing one another, recalling fond memories, and openly weeping over the loss of a leader whose promising political career had only just begun.
Many donned traditional mourning attire black and red while others clutched photographs and personal mementoes, symbolising the profound and lasting impression Ernest Kumi made on those around him, both in the political sphere and within his local community.
A book of condolence remains open at the family residence, offering members of the public a chance to pay tribute to Mr. Kumi’s life, dedicated service, and enduring legacy.
