Parliament Approves Ghc. 585,766,327 For Ministry Of Energy For The Year 2020

Presenting the report of the committee, the Chairman of the mines and energy and member of Parliament for Odotobiri, Emmanuel Gyamfi urged members to approve the energy ministry budget to enable the ministry meet it’s obligations for the betterment of Ghanaians come 2020.

Emmanuel Gyamfi indicated that the budget will also give room for efficient management of Ghana’s energy sector to help maintain our sustainable energy supply which will go a long way to support growth of the economy through businesses in the country.

The minority leader, Haruna Idrusu also called on the ministry to make good use of the gas realized out of the discovery of oil.

He said cost of electricity can be reduced if many of the turbines and others rely on gas supply and call for critical use gas to save Ghanaians from huge cost of electricity bill.

The Hon. Minister for Energy, John Peter Amewu, concluded the motion by saying he has taken into considerations all the issues raised during the deliberations.
