POLICE & COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT: TEMA POLICE INTERACT WITH DRIVERS AT TEMA FOR ENHANCED PARTNERSHIP

The Tema Regional Police Command, led by DCOP Barnabas Nambont Nasumong, has assured the various transport unions, commercial vehicle owners and drivers in and around Tema, in the Greater Accra Region, of their full cooperation in promoting security and enforcing law and order, for the benefit of all in the area.
DCOP Nasumong gave this assurance when he led a team of police officers to interact with members of various transport unions and commercial drivers under the territorial dominion of the Tema Police Regional Command as part of the Police Administration’s Community Engagement Policing Strategy to promote security and ensure law and order.
The community engagement took the Police officers to Tema-Afienya, where they interacted with the Dawhenya-Afienya Transport Union, as well as members of the National Sand and Stone Tipper Truck Driver’s Association, and to Community 25, where they met the Tema Metropolitan Co-Operative Transport Union at Devtraco Junction.
The cordial interaction saw the various unions and drivers present their issues, complaints and suggestions to the police. DCOP Nasumong, in his responses, assured the transport operators of their full cooperation, including a proactive approach to traffic management and non-disclosure of information, among others.
