President Embarks On Two Day Working Visit To Volta Region

The President of the Republic, Nana Addo Akufo-Addo has commenced a two day working visit of the Volta Region. The purpose of the tour, according to the Minister of Information, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, is to give the President an opportunity to hear first-hand from the people and observe for himself the progress of work being done in the region.

Arriving in the region on Sunday, the President made a stop at Tsito, a town about half an hour drive from the regional capital, Ho, where he was welcomed by a cheerful crowd and New Patriotic Party faithful who displayed party paraphernalia and sang praises to him.

The President is on Monday, expected in the Ho Central constituency where he is expected to engage in a meeting with the Regional Security Council, and then depart to Adaklu and Akatsi to inspect infrastructural projects and also attend the 30th anniversary of the Akatsi District Assembly. 

In the Ketu South District, President Nana Akufo-Addo will later join the Paramount chief of Aflao Traditional area, Togbui Amenya Fiti V and the people of Aflao at a durbar to be held in the President’s honour.

Still in the Volta region, President Akufo-Addo will on the second day of his tour interact with students and tutors of some selected schools in Ho and Vakpo and also commission a dormitory block at the Vakpo Senior High School.

He would also attend durbars in Dzolokpuita, Kpeve; as well as visit the Volta Star Textiles and lay a foundation stone for the construction of a proposed railway line. President Akufo-Addo is expected back in Accra on Tuesday, November 5, 2019.
