The Northern Regional House of Chiefs has commended the government of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, for the numerous development projects the region has seen since the government assumed office.
Dr. Bawumia, who is also the NPP flagbearer for this year’s election, is in the Northern Region, as part of his nationwide engagements with key stakeholders, including traditional leaders.
He has already toured the Eastern, Western, Western North, Ahafo, Bono, Bono East, and North East Regions, since he started his regional community engagements, where he has had engagements on the streets, in the markets, shops, and house-to-house interactions.
In the Northern Region, the flag bearer of the NPP had separate sessions with church leaders, pastors, Imams, and traditional leaders, where he shared his vision for Ghana and asked for their blessings.
Welcoming Dr. Bawumia to the region, during his interaction with the Northern Regional House of Chiefs, on Thursday, Ndan Ya-Naa Naa Abukari II, who is also President of the Northern Regional House of Chiefs, said the region appreciates the NPP government for the springing up of what he called “monumental” development projects, as well as the support and contribution of Dr. Bawumia,to the progress of the region.
The Ya Naa stated that the government’s development projects in the Northern Region have impacted the region positively by creating opportunities for the youth.

While commending the government and the Vice President, the Ya Naa also expressed some concerns and appealed to Dr. Bawumia to push for some projects, like the Tamale and Yendi Water Supply projects, to be completed in earnest.

Earlier, the Vice President had interactive meetings with the Christian clergy and the Muslim clerics in the region at two separate events, where he exchanged ideas with them.

The presidential candidate of the NPP wrapped up his tour of the Northern Region with a Youth Connect meeting at Tamale, where he used the occasion to outline his policies on youth development, especially on skills training and developing sports.
He also assured trainee nurses that no matter the challenges the nation faced, he would continue to pay allowances to them if voted into office.
The vice president urged the youth not to despair as they navigate through life but to endeavour to strive hard to achieve their dreams, as all things are possible.
