ROAD INFRASTRUCTURAL DEVELOPMENT: PREZ. AKUFO-ADDO INAUGURATES 40.4KM BECHEM-TECHIMANTIA-AKOMADAN ROAD

The President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, has inaugurated the 40.4-kilometer (km) Bechem-Techimantia-Akomadan road project reconstructed at the cost of €50 million.
The road project was funded by the Government of Ghana through the London Branch of Deutsche Bank AG. The asphaltic carriageway also has pedestrian walkways, streetlights, and grassing or pitching along the urban sections. The road provides an important link between Ashanti, Ahafo, and the Bono East regions.
Speaking at the inauguration at Techimantia in the Tano South Municipality in the Ahafo Region, President Akufo-Addo said his administration had successfully completed a total of 12,830 kilometres of roads across the country.
He added that under the Prez Akufo-Addo and Dr. Bawumia eras, Ghana has witnessed exceptional improvement in our road network nationwide, far more than what the late President John Evans Atta Mills and former President John Dramani Mahama could do.

On his part, the Minister of Roads and Highways, Francis Asenso-Boakye, advised commuters, particularly drivers, to adhere to safety regulations. He said their compliance and response to the use of the road were essential to ensuring that they enjoyed the full benefits of the facility.
Mr. Asenso-Boakye said the construction of the road had created job opportunities for local residents.

The Omanhemaa of the Bechem Traditional Council, Nana Adwoa Poh Dwamena Serwaa, commended President Akufo-Addo for investing in the development of the area.
She said since the creation of the region, it has benefited from several projects, such as the Ahafo Regional Education Office at Bechem, roads, and other projects. In that regard, Nana Serwaa declared the support of the chiefs and people in the area for the New Patriotic Party in the December general election.
