Sanitation Minister & Ghana Water Officials Educate Residents On Free Water

Government’s absorption of 3 months water bill for Ghanaians in the fight against covid 19 has left some confounded as landlords continue to sell water to tenants and residents with reference to some communities within the Ablekuma West Municipality in the Greater Accra Region.

The intervention was announced in the president’s 5th broadcast to the nation on coronavirus updates in Ghana. So far Ghana has recorded 566 persons affected with 8 person’s death and 17 recoveries from over 40,000 tests conducted.

This has informed the minister for sanitation and water resources Hon. Cecilia Abena Dapaah together with some officials from the Ghana water company limited to visit some part of Dansoman where numerous calls had come from residents that the directives from the president has fallen on death ears.

The minister at the end of the tour expressed gratitude to how some landlords welcomed them but realized more public education has to be done since not all of them understand the new directives.

Madam Josephine Klottey who later spoke to the news team expressed gratitude to the minister for her time and education.
