Spain’s road to the final paved by Bonmati’s brilliance.

Spain’s path to the Euro 2025 final was anything but easy, as they faced a tough challenge from Germany. Despite a lineup full of influential players, Spain struggled to break through the German defense for most of the match. However, they eventually managed to secure their place in the final, setting up a repeat of their historic 2023 Women’s World Cup victory against England.

Despite the resilient eight-time champions holding firm and even creating opportunities to make a remarkable run to the final, it was ultimately the two-time Ballon d’Or Féminin winner, Aitana Bonmatí, who came to Spain’s rescue in extra time, saving them from embarrassment and keeping their European dream alive.

This sets the stage for England, who will now have a chance to rewrite history after their defeat to Spain in the 2023 Women’s World Cup. They’ll aim to defend their European title and prevent Spain from claiming a fourth major trophy in a remarkable run of form.
