Swansea dismiss Williams after poor run of form

Swansea City have parted ways with head coach Luke Williams after just over a year in charge. The club announced the decision on Monday, confirming that assistant manager Ryan Harley and first-team coach analyst George Lawtey have also departed.

The Swans were in a promising position at the end of December, sitting ninth in the Championship table and just four points off the play-off spots following a crucial victory against Luton Town. Since the start of the new year, Swansea have managed only four points from a possible 27. A particularly damaging 3-0 defeat to fierce rivals Cardiff City added to the pressure, and their latest 3-1 loss against Stoke City proved to be the final blow.
