A leading presidential contender for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential race, Hon Ken Ohene Agyapong, has wrapped up his tour of the Northern Region, reiterating his pledge to relocate the Ministry of Agriculture to Tamale, the Northern Regional capital, should he become the president of the country
The business magnate and philanthropist also repeated his promise to designate the Tamale International Airport as a cargo and export hub, to facilitate shipping local agro-processed products to European markets in the shortest possible time.
Hon Ken Agyapong rehashed these key policy ideas when he addressed NPP delegates at Tamale Central, on his tour of the Northern Region, as part of his nationwide Unity Tour, to canvass for votes ahead of the January presidential primaries of the NPP.
Interacting with the assembled delegates, Ken Agyapong appealed to them to give him the nod to serve them by voting for him, reminding them to listen to the cry of Ghanaians to make him president to steer the affairs of the country better.
The former Assin Central MP said he was ready to manage the country with all members of the NPP as well as Ghanaians.
Ken Agyapong appealed to the delegates to vote for him, an experienced businessman and entrepreneur, to spearhead job and wealth creation in the area, and the Volta Region has the potential to feed the whole of Africa.
He said the good news, especially for Tamale and beyond, was that, due to the availability of land and natural resources, he will direct the relocation of the Ministry of Agriculture to Tamale and also designate the Tamale International Airport as a cargo and export hub.
He appealed to them not to rely on so-called brothers from the area, who have left them to their underdeveloped fate despite the numerous and abundant resources in the area.
He once again blamed bad leadership for the area’s underdevelopment, and repeated his pledge to implement policies that will kickstart agro-processing in the area, through local production and innovation, to create jobs and wealth.
