The Greater Accra Region Embarked On Health Promotion Campaign

The Greater Accra Regional Office of the National Health Insurance Authority initiated a health promotion prevention and wellness campaign on Friday, August 2, 2024, in line with the vision of NHIA Chief Executive, Dr. DaCosta-Aboagye to promote healthy lifestyle among Ghanaians.

In an interview with the Ag. Regional Director, Madam Patience Danquah, she took the opportunity to educate the public about the convenience of using the mobile renewal short code *929# and the My NHIS App.

The Operations Manager, Elliot Asante Apreku, stressed the significance of incorporating regular exercise and embracing a healthy lifestyle. He highlighted the Health walk from Ayi Mensah to Peduase Lodge as a crucial step in encouraging a healthier way of living to prevent and manage Non-Communicable Diseases. Staff members throughout the Region were briefed on the Health Promotive, Preventive, and Wellness Program.


Additionally, traders and residents in the vicinity of Ayi Mensah and Peduase Lodge were informed about the functionality of *929# and MyNHISapp and the need to embrace healthy lifestyle as part of their normal lives.


The maiden Health walk dubbed Promotion, Preventive, and Wellness campaign symbolizes a substantial dedication by the Greater Accra Region towards the welfare of its workforce. It fosters a culture of proactive health management and regular physical activity which aligns with NHIA’s broader objectives of enhancing public health.


The Regional PRO Madam Lydia Adjei-Tutu on her part calls on the general public especially corporate organizations to partner the NHIA in its membership drive and campaign on health promotion, prevention and wellness as the country moves towards achieving universal health coverage by 2030.
