There is no justification for coups because they retard progress. Lawyer Oppong
Lawyer Yaw Oppong, Director of the Ghana Law School, says people who are democratically elected should be shown the exit only through elections, as there is no justification for coups.
He says coups retard development because coup leaders who come under the pretense of saving the masses rather do so out of their own interest.
He says there is no justification for people who claim that they undertake coups because the sitting president makes changes in the constitution to extend their term of office. Lawyer Yaw Oppong noted that once those changes are made and parliament approves of them, you cannot solely blame the sitting president.
He therefore called on people who are advocating for a coup to desist from such pronouncements.
