According to the Wall Street Journal, U.S. President Donald Trump is reportedly considering reclassifying marijuana to a less dangerous category, citing sources familiar with the matter.
At a recent fundraiser held at his New Jersey golf club where tickets cost $1 million per plate Trump expressed interest in the potential reclassification, according to unnamed sources quoted by the paper.
Among the attendees was Kim Rivers, CEO of Trulieve, a major cannabis company, who reportedly urged Trump to move forward with the change and to support expanded research into medical marijuana, the report noted.
