Chinese Ambassador to Ghana H.E. Shi Ting WANG, on behalf of two Chinese invested companies which are Sunon Asogli Power Ghana Ltd and Africa World Airlines Ltd (AWA), donated 200,000 USD to the Ghanaian government for its fight against COVID-19. Hon. Akosua Frema Osei-Opare, the Chief of Staff, received the donation for the Ghanaian government.
The two companies, Sunon Asogli Power and AWA, have offered to donate 100,000 USD each, which is 200,000 USD in total. President of the National House of Chiefs His Royal Majesty Togbe Afede XIV, Chairman of Sunon Agosli power Ghana Ltd Mr. Yang Qun, Co-chairman of Africa World Airlines Ltd Mr. Luo Cheng attended the ceremony.

The Ghana branch of the South African-based insurance company, Hollard Ghana, has donated one hundred thousand Ghana Cedis (GHc 100,000.00) to the trust fund set up by government as part of efforts to battle the novel Coronavirus, Covid-19, from spreading in Ghana.
Presenting the cheque to the Chief of Staff at the Jubilee House, group head for marketing and corporate affairs of Hollard Ghana, Cynthia Ofori-Dwumfuo, noted that the donation forms part of their organization’s corporate social responsibility. She added that Hollard acknowledges the fact that the country is not in ordinary times and resources from all avenues are needed to augment government’s efforts. She was hopeful that the gesture would go a long way to support the efforts of the state in the Covid-19 fight.
Chief of Staff, Madam Akosua Frema Osei Opare in a brief comment after receiving the cheque registered the thanks of the President of the Republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, to the insurance company. She further said that the trust fund had opened its accounts at the GCB Bank and would duly acknowledge receipt of the donation and use it for the benefit of the needy and most vulnerable in society.
The delegation of Hollard Ghana included the Managing Director of Hollard Insurance, Daniel Addo and the Managing Director of Hollard life, Nashiru Iddrisu.
