Use Platforms To Continue Fight Against COVID-19 – GIBA Urges Local Media

The Fruit Processors and Marketers Association of Ghana, on Thursday presented a variety of items to the Ghana Independent Broadcasters Association in appreciation of the huge efforts by the local media fraternity, as they inform Ghanaians on the corona-virus pandemic and its effects, and educating citizens on containment measures being deployed to tackle its spread.

The items included cartons of natural fruit juices, nose masks and liquid hand wash, which is to be distributed to various members of the media grouping.

Speaking at the presentation ceremony, a representative of the Fruit Processors and Marketers Association, said the gesture was to recognize and acknowledge the selfless service of media personnel and the media organisations in the fight against the pandemic.

The President of GIBA, Andrew Danso Aninkorah, on his part appreciated the efforts of the Fruit Processors and Marketers Association, especially during this period, towards the media fraternity in spite of the hazards and dangers they continue to face.

He also advised the media to engage in relevant discussions to help in curbing the fight and avoid unnecessary politicking.

The Executive Secretary for GIBA, Gloria Hiadze used the occasion to remind media practitioners to be mindful of their personal hygiene and do well to adhere to the protocols.
