A 93-year-old woman was the toast of fitness enthusiasts when she completed the strenuous 5.9-kilometre uphill walk from Ayi Mensah in the Ga East municipality of the Greater Accra region to Peduase in the Akwapim South district of the Eastern Region last Saturday.
The occasion was part of the ‘Oman FM Walk for Kapa’ Health and Fitness Walk, which was the climax of the launch of Friends of Kencity Media, organised by the Madina-based media house.
The Health and Fitness Walk was part of Kencity Media Ltd.’s community relations effort to strengthen its cordiality with and deepen relations with its stakeholders, including its listeners and viewers, advertisers, clients, technical contractors, and the general public.
Participating clients received citations from the management of Ken City Media Ltd., recognising their support for the event.
It is also the first of impactful events to be rolled out during the year by Kencity Media Ltd.
The walk, which commenced under the direction of ace health advocate and media personality, Oheneba Ntim, saw in attendance participants from all walks of life and demographics, including the physically challenged.
They braved the uphill climb, meandering the scenic mountain slope till they reached Peduase, where they stretched and exercised.
The General Manager of Kencity Media Ltd., Mr Kwaku Amoh Darteh, in his brief address to the participants, used the opportunity to thank all stakeholders of Kencity Media for their continuous support and pledged to deepen relations with all clients as the media house continues to shape the nation beyond the limits.
Some of the participants shared their thoughts and opinions on the Walk for Kapa Fitness and Health.
