Ghana would determine its own trading partners, allies and friends as it positions itself in the coming decades for development especially in the era of Ghana Beyond Aid.
This assertion was given by the President of the republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo at an investment dinner and forum organised on the sidelines of the ongoing World Economic Summit in Davos, Switzerland.
The event which saw in attendance personalities such as former British prime minister, Tony Blair, Hollywood actor Wesley Snipes, and Fashion Icon, Oswald Boateng offered a platform for Ghana to promote and sell investments opportunities in Ghana to Global business interests.
Speaking to the invited guests, President Akufo-Addo said Ghana being the 1st to attain independence south of the Sahara had defined its destiny. President Akufo-Addo touted Ghana’s functioning democracy especially in the fourth republic.
President Akufo-Addo asserted that even though Ghana is open for business through the adoption of the market economy, it will not be held ransom by association.
President Akufo-Addo said Ghana’s best assets are its human resources.
Former British prime minister, Tony Blair paid tribute for the clear leadership skills of President Akufo-Addo.
He further eulogized the Ghana Beyond Aid policy and singled out Finance minister, Ken Ofori Atta for his qualities.
Touting the technology sector as one of the promising sectors in Ghana, Tony Blair urged global financiers and investors to consider Ghana as a serious investment destination.
