President Akufo Addo has confidently stated that his government has delivered 72% of the campaign promises the New Patriotic Party(NPP) made prior to assuming office.
According to the President, he strongly disagrees with a score of 48% given to his administration by think-thank IMANI Africa.
IMANI Africa has scored the Akufo-Addo government 48.78% in the delivery of its campaign promises so far.
They also scored the government 54.35% for its handling of the economy. The manifesto assessments by IMANI which was outdoored Wednesday said government has only implemented 41 out of the 162 promises it made in the party’s 2016 manifesto.
But speaking at his encounter with the media at the Jubilee House on Friday, President Akufo Addo said his government has information that proves that it performed far more better than IMANI’s rating.
“…”It is a much higher assessment in terms of campaign promises that have been delivered and are being delivered. The figure that we are working with is 72% not 48% in terms of the promises that have been delivered and those that are in the course of being delivered. So we have a fundamental disagreement on the figures, we believe there’s enough information that can be assembled to show that our assessment is the accurate one.”
