YOU HAVE BEEN A LOYAL SERVANT; WE WILL SUPPORT AND REWARD YOU, KPANDAI CHIEFS TO BAWUMIA: FOSTER RECONCILIATION & COOPERATION FOR NPP TO SUCCEED-APOSTLE SAFO ADVISES NAPO

“When I came here to campaign in 2020, I promised you that if you give me and NPP the mandate, we will fix this very important road linking Tatale to Yendi and Tamale. “Today you all can see the extensive work done on this road. 167km of road is almost completed. The Contractor tells me he will be done in two months.

This is the longest road constructed by this government. So you can see that even as Vice President, I have fulfilled the promise I made to you. When you make me President, you can be confident that I will fulfil my promises to you.”

These were the words of the flag bearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, while speaking at a Community Engagement at Tatale in the Tatale/Sanguli constituency of the Northern Region on Saturday, July 13, 2024.

Dr. Bawumia, who has already toured several constituencies in the North East and Northern Regions, said the NPP government, of which he is Vice President, has worked very hard to fulfil the promises they made to the people of Tatale/Sanguli constituency, and he, as President, will work extra hard to do even more.

“When we entered the office in 2017, only 17 communities in Tatale/Sanguli had been connected to the national electricity grid. Today, in just 8 years, we now have 44 communities connected to the grid. Before the end of the year, 15 more will be added.” “We are addressing the water challenge you face. So far, we have sunk 175 boreholes in various communities in the Constituency, with more in the offing. “There will be an Agenda 111 hospital in Tatale/Sanguli. We are expanding access to agricultural inputs, healthcare and education as well.
Dr. Bawumia urged the people to maintain their faith in him and the NPP in the 2024 elections, noting that the party has demonstrated its commitment to the development of the constituency.

“We are addressing the challenges that have bedevilled the people of this constituency. If you look at the body of work we have done in Tatale/Sanguli, you can clearly see that I have brought more development to Tatale/Sanguli as Vice President than my main opponent, John Mahama, when he was Vice President and President.” “Under John Mahama, the north went backwards, but under Nana Akufo-Addo and Dr Bawumia, the north has seen massive development. With me as president, you will witness even more.”

At Kpandai, the chiefs and people of the Nchumuru and Nawuri traditional areas have hailed the vision and proposed policies being touted by Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, saying his contribution to the design and implementation of transformational initiatives such as the Free SHS and Agenda 111, One District, One Factory, is evidence of a good leader.

The Chiefs of Kpandai pledged their support to Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia in a joint address read on behalf of all the ethnic groups in Kpandai District by Nana Bayimgne II and Nana Abuga-Aba l, Paramount chiefs of Nchumuru and Nawuri Traditional Areas, respectively, when the NPP flag bearer engaged key stakeholders in the Kpandai constituency on the third day of his constituency-focused nationwide campaign.

Extolling the admirable character traits of Dr. Bawumia, the chiefs encouraged the NPP flag bearer to “continue to be his good self and concentrate on his seventy-point vision for the country.

Still on the NPP, the founder and leader of the Kristo Asafo Mission, Apostle Kwadwo Safo, has urged Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, the running mate of the NPP, to prioritise peacebuilding and consensus within the party to facilitate victory in the elections. Apostle Safo highlighted the critical role that unity and harmony play in solidifying the party’s support base and ensuring electoral success.
Apostle Safo made this call when Dr. Prempeh paid a courtesy call to him at his Gomoa Mpota industrial hub on Sunday. He noted that as a party that has been in government for almost eight years, it is natural that some members may feel discontented and develop cold feet.

He underscored the importance of internal cohesion and peaceful coexistence among party members. He urged Dr. Opoku Prempeh to lead by example in fostering the spirit of reconciliation and cooperation among all factions within the NPP.

Dr. Prempeh expressed gratitude to Apostle Kwadwo Safo for his counsel and assured him of coming to seek further advice as he embarks on his political campaign across the country.
He used the occasion to introduce the Member of Parliament and the 2024 Parliamentary candidate for Gomoa Central, Naana Eyiah, to Apostle Safo and called for his support.

Dr. Prempeh was accompanied by the Central Regional Minister, Marygold Assan; Deputy Minister for Local Government and Decentralization, Vincent Ekow Essafuah; Deputy Minister for the Interior, Naana Eyiah; MPs for Dome-Kwabenya and Sarah Adwoa Safo; and the Central Regional executives of the party.
